My Must Haves from Charlotte Tilbury - Part 2 (and an update)

Hello all! Hope you're all well and had a fabulous Christmas and New Year. I seem to have unintentionally dropped off the radar again; my passion for blogging came back in full force last year but I've had so much going on lately I've barely found the time to write. So much has changed these past few months and trying to keep on top of everything has been overwhelming, to say the least.

In October I made the decision to pack up my little flat and move back home to my parents. To leave my life up North behind - a life I'd put my heart and soul into creating - was so difficult, but I knew it was for the best. The contract on my flat was coming to an end and I was desperate for a change, so I quit my job and made the long journey back to Staffordshire. The weeks that followed were a endless blur of reconnecting with old friends, job hunting and trying to figure out my next move. Which brings me onto my next bit of news: in February I'll be heading to Australia on a working holiday visa!

Anyone who knows me will be aware that travelling has been on my bucket list for such a long time. When I graduated back in 2015 I was so close to booking my tickets but fear of the unknown held me back. Now, after living alone in a strange city for a year, I feel as though I can do anything (as cheesy as that sounds). Despite my finger hovering over the 'book flight' button for a good hour and having a bit of a 'what have I done?!' moment afterwards, I'm beside myself with excitement. There's nothing like visiting a new country to get the old creative juices flowing, so hopefully I'll have lots of exciting things to photograph and write about in the coming months!

I'm pretty relieved to wave goodbye to 2017 and see what 2018 has to offer. Every year I say I'll blog more - with the move I'm not sure how possible it will be, but I'm optimistic. I had a play about with my layout the other night as I was getting tired of the old design - everything is so much neater and easier to navigate now! I'm hoping the new look will inspire me to post regularly again. I've also decided to start a travel Instagram account (@katieleannetravel) to document my time away, if you fancy following.

Anyway, without further ado, I'll move on to today's post (sorry for waffling!) I'll be following on from my blog last year on my Must Haves from Charlotte Tilbury... here are a few more of her gorgeous products I can't live without!

You can find part one here.

Overnight Bronze & Glow Mask. I have been a lover of fake tan for as long as I can remember but I always struggle to find products suitable for my face. I'm a big fan of the Clarins Liquid Bronze but it has a tendency to dry my skin out sometimes, especially during the colder months. Charlotte's Overnight Bronze & Glow Mask gives the complexion a beautiful glow whilst still leaving it soft and supple. I apply this a few times a week to keep my colour up and it never goes patchy or orange. It smells amazing, too!

Legendary Brows Brow Gel. I have a love/hate relationship with brow mascaras as sometimes I feel they can make your hairs appear a bit clumpy. Charlotte's offering is perfect, however - it adds just the right amount of texture without looking OTT. I use this over the top of my regular gel to keep my hairs in place or on its own on my days off.

Retoucher Concealer. Retoucher is one of my all-time favourite products. It provides incredible coverage but it's super hydrating at the same time, meaning it doesn't cake or settle into any fine lines. I apply a generous amount to any blemishes/redness before using my finger to pat it into place. You can use as little or as much as you like and it never looks heavy. It's so weightless it can even be worn over powder, so it's perfect for touching up throughout the day.

Colour Chameleon Eyeshadow Pencil. These are perfect for if you're in a rush - if I haven't got long to apply my make-up I'll use a Colour Chameleon all over my lid before smoothing it out with my finger - so much quicker than faffing around with shadows and brushes! They're so creamy and blend like butter; although you have to work quick as once they've set they don't budge!

If I'm going on a night out I love using these as a base for a smokey eye as they just last so well. The colours are absolutely gorgeous, too - Bronzed Garnet is my favourite but Dark Pearl and Amber Haze are beautiful also.

Lip Lustre Lip Gloss. Anyone else over the whole matte lip trend now? These days I much prefer sporting a slick, glossy lip. Charlotte's Lip Lustres give you a voluptuous and polished pout without leaving you feeling sticky - they provide the perfect finishing touch. I tend to switch between Seduction, Blondie and Ibiza Nights - although I do have my eye on Unleash Me to see me through the end of Winter!

My only bug bear with these is that they tend to accentuate dry patches, so I have to make sure I go to town exfoliating my lips beforehand!

Rock 'n' Kohl Liquid Eye Pencil. These are amazing for a smokey eye as they're so intense - they really make your make-up pop! I'm not a big fan of liner in the waterline (on me, anyway) but I love using these along my upper lashes. Bedroom Black and Barbarella Brown are beautiful shades but my favourite is actually Marlene Midnight - a deep navy colour. It looks incredible on blue eyes!

Are you a big Charlotte Tilbury fan? What are some of your favourite products?
Do you have any exciting plans for 2018? I'd love to know x

  4. hey, at least the best part about living with parents is that most of our expenses (aka rent) is either free or at a discount eh? ;) australia sounds like a lot of fun!

I've yet to try anything from CT - the price is holding me back, but I have no doubts that her products are worth it!

  5. Wow, Katie! Your next adventure sounds so exciting! You were so brave to make such a big change. :)
I actually just received my first Charlotte Tilbury product - the Instant Look in a Palette (glow version) - as a Christmas present. I had wanted it for ages and positively love it! I am looking forward to trying more of her products in the future.
