Getting to Know Me

Despite the fact I've been blogging for over four and a half years now, I've never written a personal tag. I've always been a bit rubbish at writing about myself; I guess I worry it won't be very interesting! However, I love reading posts like this on other blogs so I thought I'd give it a go.

I got the inspiration for this questionnaire from the lovely Mandy over at A Girl, Obsessed. I had a lot of fun putting it together - I'm going to try my best to create more 'get to know me' style posts in the near future.

  1. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? If I wouldn't gain weight, then cheesy pasta or pizza
  2. How many pairs of shoes do you own? WAY too many... I used to work in a shoe shop though, so it's justified ;)
  3. What is your favourite scent? Miss Dior - it brings back so many memories for me
  4. What do you value most in a friendship? Loyalty
  5. When did you last cry in front of another person/by yourself? I'm quite a sensitive person and I'm definitely a cryer; films/books/music always make me emotional! I can't remember the last time I cried in front of someone else, though - it was probably on a drunken night out!
  6. Do you love or hate rollercoasters? Absolutely love them
  7. List two pet peeves. Loud eaters and the misspelling of your/you're
  8. What superpower would you most like to have? I'd love to be able to fly
  9. What do you want people to say about you once you're gone? That I made a difference
  10. Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion? French manicures
  11. Do you have anyone you go to for advice? My mom, always
  12. What's the most beautiful place you've ever been to? Paris or Venice
  13. What are you terrible at but love to do anyway? Jogging - I'm so slow!
  14. On a scale of 1-10, how strict were/are you parents? Probably a 4. My mom and dad were quite laid back... they always looked out for me but I was still allowed to go out and have fun and make my own mistakes. I was very lucky in that sense
  15. What is something you've always wanted to try but have been too scared to? YouTube!
  16. If you could be an Olympic athlete, in what sport would you compete? Gymnastics. It's so beautiful to watch
  17. What is your favourite movie quote? "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light" - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  18. What's your favourite kind of sandwich? Mozzarella, tomato and pesto
  19. If you could have dinner with anyone from history, who would it be? Either Marilyn Monroe or Anne Boleyn

  21. What's the tallest building you've been to the top of? The Empire State
  22. What's your favourite genre of movie? Horror

  24. What was your best subject at school? I always loved English
  25. What makes you cringe? The word 'slay'
  26. Do you believe in ghosts? I definitely believe in some sort of spiritual energy. I find it all really interesting
  27. Which would be harder for you to give up: coffee or alcohol? I don't like coffee and I'm not a big drinker, so neither
  28. Sweet or savoury? Savoury!
  29. Favourite Disney film? It's a toss up between The Little Mermaid, Mulan, Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame
  30. What skill or craft would you like to master? I'd love to be able to sing
  31. Do you have any piercings? My ear lobes, tragus and nipple. I had the upper cartilage on my ear pierced for a while but it never healed so I had to take it out
  32. Tattoos? No tattoos! Although I love them on other people, I don't think I'd ever get one myself - I'm too indecisive and I get bored easily, so I feel it would be too big a commitment
  33. What did you love most about the place you grew up? All the greenery
  34. What's the most unusual thing you've ever eaten? Snails
  35. Do you believe everyone deserves a second chance? Not always - it depends what they did
  36. Do you follow your heart or your head? My heart, definitely
  37. Would you rather live in a large house in the suburbs, or a tiny apartment in the city with an excellent view? This is such a hard question - I think I'd like to live in a city apartment for a while, but I'd want to retire to the suburbs eventually

  42. Now, name something you secretly love that everyone else seems to hate. Gherkins
  43. What movie has everyone else seen but you haven't? Dirty Dancing
  44. If you were paid 1 million to stay the night in a supposedly haunted house, would you do it? 100%
  45. If you're being extremely quiet, what does it mean? That I'm probably really tired!
  46. Do you smile at strangers? Yes, all the time
  47. What's your favourite type of foreign food? Japanese
  48. What are your favourite stores to shop in? I love Zara and Topshop
  49. What's your guilty pleasure? The Only Way is Essex
  50. Most embarrassing moment? When I was 17 I was on a night out with my friends and a guy I'd been seeing for a few weeks. I'd had a bit too much too drink and slipped over whilst dancing, splitting my chin open. The guy took me to A&E and we sat in the waiting room for five hours while I cried my eyes out (think Clare Danes in Homeland) - I think I was a bit delirious. The poor bloke barely knew me - he must have felt so awkward! I cringe every time I think of it

If any of you have a tag like this on your blog, link it in the comments below! I'd love to get to know you all a little better x
