20 Things to Do Other than Watch Netflix

Don't get me wrong - I love Netflix. I could sit and watch Disney films all afternoon or binge on back-to-back episodes of Mock the Week. My boyfriend and I have spent countless evenings/days off vegging out in front of the TV, only venturing out of bed to answer the door to a Domino's delivery.

Our Netflix account becomes even more inviting during Autumn, what with saving for Christmas and the slight chill in the air. However, I always love thinking of new ideas for dates and came up with a list of things to do when we get a bit sick of our TV. These are all activities you can carry out with little-to-no money and can be done pretty much any time of year.

  1. Challenge him/her to a board game (Cluedo is my favourite)
  2. Visit your local National Trust site. This makes for such a romantic afternoon out, whatever the weather
  3. Bake
  4. Go bowling
  5. Build a blanket fort and enjoy an indoor picnic
  6. Attend a ghost walk or visit a haunted house
  7. Massage each other
  8. Order your favourite takeaway and complete a jigsaw together
  9. Visit a local museum
  10. Share childhood photos
  11. Attend an exercise class/go to the gym together
  12. Visit your local farmer's market
  13. Pick a town or city neither of you have visited and spend the day there
  14. Go for afternoon tea
  15. Take a long walk
  16. Put together a scrapbook
  17. Visit your local arcade
  18. Sit with a cup of tea and play silly games like Hangman or 'Would You Rather...'
  19. Go apple picking
  20. Create an indoor scavenger hunt

What's your idea of a perfect Autumn date? x

  1. These ideas are actually fabulous!! It's so easy to get stuck in a rut of TV when there is a big world out there!
I also think learning a language together online. There's an app called Duolingo that I use and it is honestly incredible xx

  3. Aw what a sweet list :) However, my family have made it clear that my baking is no good... but I hear I make killer soups ;) These are such simple things to do, I never thought of doing them, but will definitely be ticking some things off this list. Thanks for sharing :) My perfect date would be camping :) It'sMyLife

  6. These are some great ideas! I try and balance my spare time - at the weekend, I'll spend one day doing things and another just vegging out in my PJs. With Netflix on...!

  8. These are really great ideas! When the dark nights roll around I'm very guilty of squirreling myself away in bed with a cuppa and binge-watching my latest Netflix obsession, I'll need to try some of these out instead x

  11. Great ideas! I'm not sure how much patience I'd have with a jigsaw puzzle though... Long walks are always my favourite, especially if there's a tea stop along the way!

  12. These are such lovely ideas, I actually went bowling the other day! And apple picking actually sounds kind of fun! So much better than just sticking a series on and staring at a screen for ages xx

  15. With Halloween coming up I could definitely jump on board your suggestion to go on a ghost tour or go through a haunted house! I have to say though, Netflix is so tempting! So many good shows...
