The Perfect Cleansing Duo

I don't tend to change up my skincare too often. For the past six months or so I've been loyal to my Ultra Bland cleanser from Lush and before that I was devoted to Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish (which I raved about so much my boyfriend ended up buying himself a bottle to see what all the fuss was about). However, I fancied trying something different for autumn/winter this year so I decided to treat myself to a few new bits.

I purchased Soap and Glory's Peaches and Clean Cleansing Milk on a whim a few weeks back. While I've been a fan of the brand's bath/body range for many years now, I've always steered clear of their skincare as they tend to add so much fragrance to their products. Luckily, this isn't as heavily perfumed as I thought it would be - it smells slightly minty with a hint of peach, which helps my face feel nice and fresh first thing of a morning. The cleanser is a very creamy, rich consistency which is a dream to blend into the skin and makes my face feel super soft and hydrated. I think £8 for a whopping 350ml is an incredible price, too - it'll last me ages!

As my new job requires me to wear a full face of makeup on a regular basis, I decided to also pick up a cleansing oil to help remove it all at the end of the day. After hearing so many good things about The Body Shop's Chamomile cleanser (£11) I was keen to give it a try. I've been using this every evening since I purchased it and I'm so impressed with it - it completely breaks my makeup down and leaves my face feeling squeaky clean. I've then been double cleansing with Peaches and Clean which removes any oily residue and prepares my skin for toner and moisturiser.

I find these two products complement each other so well - enough to make me look forward to removing my makeup at the end of the day (which I never thought was possible!) My new routine has left my skin feeling healthy and nourished and I've noticed my makeup has been looking so much better. I'll definitely be repurchasing - especially as they're both so affordable!

What's your favourite cleanser? x

  1. I love TBS Camomile Oil but haven't tried that cleansing milk. I'll have to pick it up next time i'm at Boots x

  3. Oh this was an interesting read as I've never tried any of these cleansers before! I'm currently using the Super Facialist by Una Brennan Vitamin C+ Skin Renewal Cleansing Oil and it's amazing at removing makeup (I've read that it's better than the TBS Chamomile Oil) and smells really fruity and leaves the skin feeling moisturised and rebalanced - I couldn't recommend it more :) x

  4. These sound great. I usually use Garnier cleansing milk which is good, but definitely want to give these a go, especially the Soap and Glory.
